Myrtle R. Cook

January 22, 1915 ~ August 26, 2015 (age 100) 100 Years Old

Myrtle R. Cook, affectionately known as “Cookie,” age 100, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at New Albany Gardens and Care Center.

She was born January 22, 1915 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Albert and Martha Leindecker Hauck. 

She was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God and a homemaker most of her life. Myrtle was a cellist in the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and a 25 year member of the Columbus Mother’s Chorus, she was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s “The Blend Dears” Quartette and very active in the Music Ministry at Evangel Temple. She was a volunteer of W.C.V.O.

Myrtle is survived by her sons, David E. Cook of Baltimore, Ohio, Albert, Pat (Sharon) Cook of Lewis Center, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren; three half- brothers, John (Karen) Hauck of Lancaster, Ohio, Dennis (Merrel) Hauck of Florida and Thomas (Karen) Hauck of Pickerington, Ohio; many beloved nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 62 years, Paul D. Cook, who passed away in 1995; son, Paul D. Cook II; three brothers; three sisters and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Genoa Baptist Church, 7562 Lewis Center Road, Westerville, Ohio 43082 with Pastor Frank Carl officiating.

Graveside services will be held Monday August 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Amanda Township.
