Luther "Gene" Rush

Luther “Gene” Rush, 73, of Roseville, passed away December 25, 2016 after a long battle with COPD at Genesis Morrison House, Zanesville, OH, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 23 1943 in Morgan County, son of the late Luther O. Rush and Dorothy Trimper Probasco.  He was owner operator of Gene Rush Auto Services and worked for twenty-two years at Tansky’s Toyota prior to opening his business.  He was a veteran in the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era. Gene was a member of the Crooksville VFW, American Legion Post #29, Zanesville Eagles F.O.E. #302.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Fuller Rush; son, Luther (Sonja June) Rush II; brothers, Joseph Rush, Robert (Maria) Rush, Michael (Ramona) Rush, John Rush; sister, Julia (Garland) Starling; grandchild, Kayla Marie (Josh) Jordan; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews; faithful Maltese dogs, Reggie and Pepper; step-daughter, Marne.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Leasure Rush; brothers, James Rush, Richard Rush and Tom Probasco.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place, a memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday January 6, 2017 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home.  Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Muskingum County Animal Shelter or Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care.
