George J." Buck" Snyder Jr.

George J.“Buck” Snyder Jr., 81, of Zanesville, passed away 10:00 a.m. February 1, 2017 at The Oaks at Bethesda.

He was born October 30, 1935 in Zanesville, son of the late, George Snyder Sr. and Pauline Gibbons Snyder.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.  He retired from Ohio Ferro-Alloy and was a member of the American Legion in Zanesville.

He is survived by his sons, Randy (Beth) Snyder, Brian (Dee) Snyder; daughter and baby girl, Debbie Jo Snyder; daughters, Rita Potts, Pam Hill, Diane Potts; brother, Bill (Bonnie) Snyder; sister, Polly Lambert; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his significant other, Rita Joanne Smith; mother of his children, Barbara J. Snyder; brother, Steven Snyder; his beloved dog, Mitzi.

Calling hours will be held 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will take place at 12:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Poplar Forks Cemetery with full military rites.
