Elsie Joan (Hittle) Carpenter

Elsie Joan Carpenter, 82, of Zanesville, passed away August 2, 2016 at Clay Garden Place.

She was born December 1, 1933, daughter of the late Earl Hittle and Marie Wisecarver Hittle.  She was a member of the Findley United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Bryan) Hoover, Lisa (Jim) Carter, Barbara Hayes, all of Zanesville, Vicki (Karl) McKenzie of Hopewell and Pam Shaw of Nashport; son, Robert (Tereasa) Carpenter of Zanesville; brothers, Ronald Hittle and Marvin Hittle; sister, Dorothy Ross; grandchildren, Chad (Crystal) McKenzie, Scott (Robin) McKenzie, Shane (Mandy) McKenzie, Jessica (Michael) Sweeney, Heather Stines, Shana (Shane) Bowen, Cindy Glass, John (Sarah) Stines, Chris (Kendra) Hoover, Aaron (Ashleigh) Hoover, Jeffrey (Aimier) Carpenter, Susan Carpenter, Sarah (Doug) Ellison, Vashti (Jim) Sawtelle, James (Ainsley) Davis, Jerrod Vanoster, Vanetia (Derek) Watiker, Dylan Hayes and Holly Stines; several great-grandchildren and anticipating four in the near future.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Carpenter; daughter, Connie Stines; son, Steven D. Carpenter; sisters, Judy Hittle and Louise Stoneburner.

Calling hours will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Thursday, August 4, 2016 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home where services will 10:00 am Friday, August 5, 2016 with Rev Charles Norris officiating.  Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery.
