Earl Robert Davis

Earl Robert Davis, age 89, quietly passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016. He was born October 16, 1926, in Cumberland, OH, to the late Clarence and Lucy Mae (Scott) Davis. He was a former U.S. Marine, retired owner/operator of Davis Garage in Zanesville, an avid NASCAR race fan, member of the NRA, a motorcycle, RC plane, and fishing enthusiast.

Earl is survived by sisters Beulah Bishop Grabel and Shelva Jean (Dean) Lane; the children of Earl and Phyllis Davis Taylor: Phillip S. Davis (Maureen Linden), Cathy J. (Phillip) Shenefield, and Jeffrey L. (Diana) Davis; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Virgil, William “Bill”, Charles Edward “Ed”, Dale; sisters Ruth Parsons, Cora E. Miller; and great grandsons Stone and Seth Shuster.

As he requested, a celebration for all family and friends to remember the good times of Earl’s life will be held Saturday July 16, 2016, at the Falls Township Park Building, 3205 Licking Lane, Zanesville, OH from 4 – 8 pm.
