Donna Jean Pemberton, passed away May 21, 2017 at Genesis Morrison House.
Donna was born in Roseville, April 3, 1932, to Erma Sowers and Russell Pemberton. A graduate of the old Roseville High School, she attended Bowling Green State University and Ohio University/Zanesville. She was employed as a secretary in the Zanesville area for many years including 21 years at Columbia Cement Corporation and retiring from the Pastoral Care Department of Bethesda Hospital (Genesis Health Care) in 1999.
Donna was a member of the First Christian Church of Zanesville and formerly the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Roseville, a member of the Order of Eastern Star – joining the Martha Washington Chapter No. 210 of Roseville which merged with the Olive Branch No. 251 of Duncan Falls – and received her 60 Year Award in 2011. Also a member of the Zanesville Art Center and a former member of ZAAP.
Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, a brother Ronney Russell, with whom she co-partnered in Roseville Motor Express from 1970 to 1978, and a half-sister, Ruth Pemberton Young, half-niece Julia Ann Lanning.
Surviving are a special nieces, Sue Ann Pemberton, Carol Jean Murvine and Ronda Bauernfreund all of Chicago; half-niece Kay Lynn Caffroy of Cleveland; great nieces, Gretchen Murvine of Colorado and Lydia Baurenfreund of Chicago.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home where Eastern Star Services will be held at 7:45 p.m. Graveside services will take place 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating.
