Bill W. Whetstone

Bill W. Whetstone, 62, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 23, 2016.

He was born September 28, 1953 in Cambridge son of Bernard (Janice) Whetstone and the late Jessie Eltringham Whetstone.  Bill loved to cook and loved music. He spent spare time with family, friends and our dogs. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy.  He graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1972.  Bill worked thirty years in the food service industry and as a dietitian in health care.  After retiring he worked for Nirdhum Inc doing business as Days Inn as an auditor.  He met many friends young and old alike along the way.  He will be deeply missed by all.    

In addition to his father, he is survived by his sister, Donna Sopko of Cambridge; niece, Katie (Jerry) Dement of Powell; nephews, Keith (Alisha) Scott of Cambridge, Kevin Scott of Cambridge; great-nephews and niece whom he love dearly, Keith Scott IV, Kyle Scott, Abby Scott and Landen Scott all who knew him as “Bubba”.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William Sopko Jr.; grandparents, Jessie and Sherman Eltringham, Edna Whetstone, Wayne and Pink Whetstone.

A dignified cremation has taken place per Bill’s wishes.  A private family service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Hospice of Guernsey County.
