Bertie Louise (Smith) Marple

Bertie Louise Marple, 91 of Zanesville, passed away at her residence September 10, 2017.

She was born August 27, 1926 in Parkersburg, WV, daughter of the late, W. A. Smith and Margaret Hartman.  She was owner operator of Zane Trace Inn.

She is survived by her sons, Ray (Jane) Marple, Ted (Vickie) Marple, Terry (Debbie) Marple all of Zanesville, Rodney Marple of Florida; daughter, Nancy (Roger) Smith of Zanesville; brother, Paul (Laura) Smith of Zanesville, Raymond Smith of Zanesville, Glen (Helga) Smith of Virginia; sisters, Evelyn Hanes of Louisiana, Cindy Wylie of Texas; sister-in-law, Patty Englehart; grandchildren, Terry Marple, Brandee Trout, Jamie Lipp, Donnie Smith, Corrie Marple, Teddy Marple, Justin Marple, Dustin Marple, Jeremy Marple; twenty-six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Donald Marple; brothers, Harold Smith, Harry Englehart, Willis Smith; sister, Dolly Roberts; grandchildren, Chad Marple, Dusty Marple, Jacquelyn Marple, Jason Marple and Keeley Marple.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made the Salvation Army or Christ Table in memory of Bertie Louise Marple.
